2019 marks Nila's 12th year making the best LED light fixtures for the best customers. We're thrilled to have you along for the ride, and as a thank you, we're offering a very special promotion during the month of October.

While supplies last, we're selling our popular Boxer Deluxe Kits at a whopping 50% OFF MSRP with free FedEx Ground shipping at the Nila Outlet Store.

THE BOXER STORY

The Boxer was originally created to light the floor of the US House of Representatives. We had won the contract but had thus far only produced the JNH fixture, AKA The Brick. Since the new fixture had to work within the specifications presented by the Architect of the Capital, we used those specs as the starting point.

It wasn't called the Boxer at that time. In fact, the version still in use at the HOR is quite a bit different from the production model we currently sell. It had an external power supply and a curved rear housing in order to accommodate the movement of the light within the tight confines of the existing Mole motor yokes in use at the HOR.

When it came time to rework the design for everyone else, the only elements that remained the same were the electronics and the face. Everything else was redesigned to create the first generation Boxer.

For the first time, an LED fixture had the punch to compete with HMIs on set, and compete it did. The Boxer soon found a home on many big Hollywood shoots.

The original Boxer went through a couple of iterations, but the fact remained that it was THE LED fixture with the chops to fill the shoes of both tungsten and HMI fixtures on set. And the fixture could certainly take a beating.

It wasn't long before LED technology advanced and the tried and true Boxer design needed a refresh. In 2013, we completely redesigned the Boxer from the ground up, increasing the light output and efficiency in the process. This newest version of the Boxer continues to be hugely popular for film shoots as well as ENG, motion capture, and high-speed photography.

The Boxer's output continues to amaze while still drawing less that 200 watts! It works great with Chimera soft boxes and is fully dimmable with no change in color temperature. Almost every person who demos the fixture says the same thing - “I didn’t think it would be THAT bright!”
